SOC 2 is a comprehensive framework (under Attestation Standards (AT) 101 and Trust Services Principals and Criteria (TSP) Section 100) put forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and geared towards reporting on controls at service organizations. The SOC 2 framework is a specific set of reporting initiatives aimed at helping to clarify, distill, and bring about transparency for reporting on controls at service organizations relevant to security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and/or privacy.
